Randall Sergeants Model...with NASA insulator handle!!
Hi folks:
I was privileged to acquire a small portion of the NASA insulators that were salvaged from Kennedy Space Center, Launch Pad #39 complex, after the Challenger disaster. This material has been used for a few projects over the past decade. These projects have been very well received by the Randall knife community.
Randall Made Knives were the 'First Knives In Space'. Their ties to our space program are well documented. It seems only fitting (and quite reasonable) that a Randall knife, made with a custom handle from this historically significant venture, would be treasured by many a Randall collector.
For this project I chose the Randall (non-cataloged) SERGEANTS Model. It is paired with a piece of NASA brown G-3, race and adorned with as many options as can be supplied on a Randall knife.
