Randall Model #5-5: Captain's 'STASH' for a handle!!
First off: This is not entirely a Randall Made Knife. This knife started it's life as a #5-5 inch, standard, i.e.: leather handle! I sent the knife to 'The James' Gang' @ Behring Made Knives, located in Missoula, Montana and had it highly customized! No warranties from the Randall shop should be implied. This knife is a 'one-off'!!
The leather handle was removed. Care was taken to save the original duralumin butt cap and it's exposed acorn nut. Custom spacers, along with a piece of Norwegian Blue Spruce Pine Cone, from The Captain's STASH, was used for the handle and the butt cap was re-installed/old school!
The blade was acid etched, giving an appearance similar to parkerizing! It helps prevent rust on the blade and, just plain looks bad-ass!! I sure hope you like it.
