Randall Model #1...'SINGLE HILT'??
Randall Model #1's are traditionally made up with a double hilt. Makes sense: Fighter with a double hilt, right? Not always, I say! Model #23's, #8'4's, #19's, Sgt.'s, #12-6's, #16's,...all share a single hilt and a false edge on top that is sharpened! Why not make a #1 up in the same manner?
The #5-5', Camp & Trail, is a staple of the Randall catalog...and they friggin' sell, with extreme popularity and purpose! This Model #1 gives you the practical aspects of the #5 (I even added thumb notches when ordering it)...'PLUS'...a sharp top edge, and indentation for your thumb placement on top of that heavy, 1/4 inch blade stock! Having both top and bottom edges sharp at the tip allows this knife to perform outstanding skinning and gutting chores as well. You can, almost surgically, cut open the anas and the cavity of a whitetail deer with ease.
What's not to like? 'PLUS'...a nickel silver single hilt, aluminum & black spacers and perfect sambar stag handle round out a very beautiful and perfect all-around user! I hope you agree. I have a 5 inch Model #5, in stag, also coming up so you have 2 choices, with regards to this type of Randall user. This one's just more unique!
