Randall Model #12-13 inch-Raymond Thorp Bowie!
Happy New Year to one and all! I pray 2021 is better than 2020...At least! Here's one of the last and fading entries on my website for this year. It is un-touched since new, 'cept for wiping downs-n-such! I'll list all of it's particulars below...but it's a scarce bird, to be sure! I hope it makes it's into your collection!
Author, Raymond Thorp, wrote the book, 'BOWIE KNIFE', many decades ago. I do not have an original hardback copy in my 'stash'...but I 'do' have a copy. Thorp's researched is un-matched and the Randall 'Raymond Thorp Bowie' is offered in their fine catalog as, according to Raymond Thorp himself, the most authentic Bowie, in size, shape and weight, made...PERIOD!!
Good enough for me. This one is mid-1980's vintage and dead-ass mint! All matching brass hardware and a piece of Claro Walnut used on the handle is a perfect blend of art, form and function!
The sheath is a Maurice Johnson roughback style, complete with his all-familiar 'butterfly- stiched' sewing pattern, along with Maurice's 'tight-stitched' sewing machine evidence! This Bowie is, no-doubt, quite a collectible and is offered at current catalog pricing!
