Scarce, 1950's Pinned Stag Model #4!!
Hi folks,
I do 'not' know the history of this knife. Could it have been a Korean Veteran? Possibly but, judging by what little provenance I have with it, probably not. The string tag mentions Alaskan guides and one of those guides, Chris Craft's, name has been electronic-pencil etched on the brass hilt.
The tag also states 1950's and I have no sweat with that dating, whatsoever. Also listed is that this knife is/was/came from: 'TSC Collection'. Possible Tom Clinton's stash at an earlier date.
All of this is speculation...to some degree so let's concentrate on what we know for sure: The knife is 1950's vintage with 7 spacers and a 'pinned stag' handle. Carbon steel blade and a brass single hilt are also a part of this beauty.
The period-correct Heiser sheath is all original with brown button snaps and the proper stone. EVERYTHING is intact and a great knife!
I hope it meets your liking as well.
Stay sharp, Capt. Chris
