Randall Vietnam-era Smitty/BRASSBACK Bowie!
Howdy mates,
Up for grabs, outta' The Captain's STASH, is a Vietnam-era Randall Model #12-11 inch, Smithsonian 'Brassback: Bowie! Condition Excellent! The white stone has never been used! The sheath has the very early 'R'-up sheath stamping from Maurice Johnson, a procedure that was used early on. The keeper strap has a large baby dot snap so it was, either replaced or pulled out of the sheath bin at the shop after the brown button snaps were all used up! You will notice that the hone pocket snap (which was installed at Johnson's leather shop in Castleberry, Fl.) is a brown button snap.
Brass lugged hilt, scalloped collar and scalloped flanged butt cap surround the deep-, dark rosewood handle! The complete package, no doubt. Circa 1962-69 vintage, this bad-ass blade was definitely Vietnam war era and a by-God serious one at that!
